What a cute boy! Snug as a Bug in his swaddler blanket:)


He is having a pretty good day today! His bottle went alright...he took a total of 7 of his now 26. He was really sleepy though and kept trying to drop his heart rate. Next time we need to catch him during his awake time and try then:)
He can almost turn his head from one side to the other, he will have it by the end of the week I am sure of it!
This evening he had a bad spell where he wanted to drop his heart rate, and desaturate. It took lots of stimulation, and about 4-5minutes later, he finally came out of it! They said he might not be ready for 2L and they might need to turn him back up to 3L. He just needs more growin time!

9/19- Jaxon is having a pretty good day thus far! He weighs 3pounds 11ounces:) He is getting so big! He is about ready to move up to the next clothes size! I can't believe how fast he is growing! We got to give him his first bottle today! It was so cool! He did pretty good. He gagged a little bit at first, he was just confused at what was going on! Overall, he did not do half bad. He took a total of 10ml out of the total 24ml that he gets. So he will get to try the bottle once a day until he can take 50% of the total for two consecutive days. After he does that, they will offer the bottle twice and so on... We tried out a new church today! We really like it and think we are going to keep going back! It seems like it has great children's ministry services, and great teen groups! It also has a lot of younger kiddos, so Jaxon will have a great group to grow up with!

9/16- 6weeks old today!!!

9/15 Jaxon is 5 weeks and 6days old today! He will be 6 weeks old tomorrow! What a big boy he his becomming! He weighed 3pounds 6ounces today! What a big boy! He got put into a big boy (Open) crib today! No more "box"! Now he just has to show us he can continue to be a big guy! He has to be able to keep his temperature up and continue to gain weight. He is also still on the nasal cannula at 3L and they are talking about turning it down to 2L tomorrow! Hopefully he continues to to do well tonight and they will turn down oxygen tomorrow! Then maybe early next week they might offer him the bottle!!! He is pretty much hanging in there and doing what he should be doing! I left my camera at the hosp, so I will try to post photos in the next couple days! Before you know it, he will be home sleeping in his own bed in his very own bedroom! We cant wait!!! 9/8/10-
Jaxon is hanging in there. He is being such a tough guy! He has been on CPAP for about 3days now and they have already made some weans on the CPAP settings. Hopefully he continues to be a big boy and continues to do well! He is weighing in at about 3lbs now, growing bigger and stronger everyday! The respiratory therapist are always "fighting" with him when they are suctioning out his mouth and nose. He is so strong for such a little guy. Other than that not to much to report. He is tolerating his feedings pretty good and other wise just growing!

9/2- (later in the evening).
Jaxon had a semi rough day. He had many desaturation episodes (he would frop his oxygen level), and required many increases in the percent of oxygen. Well finally tonight the doctors made a few changes in the vent and it really seemed to make a huge difference!!! The blood gas after the change was very good, so they hung tight and made no changes and will recheck another gas at midnight. Last night was very hard with the reintibation and then he was just tired out and did not want to breath any on his own! Thanks goodness for the vent:) So mom got like 1.5hrs of sleep last night and dad and I were at the hospital bright and early this morning at 6am! He had a great nurse today and she took very good care of him and we had a good day! Now we just have to work on growing strong and getting those lungs better!!!

9/2- Jaxon is 4weeks old today!
Well yesterday was a big day for my little guy! They tried to remove his breathing tube and put him on CPAP! Well, he only tolerated it for about 10hours, they had to put the breathing tube back in. Bummer:( Well I guess my little tough guy was not quite ready. Maybe in a few more days they will try again and he will do better then. They have also gotten ride of the ativan and the fentanyl!! I am very glad for that one! I am hoping that all the meds will wear off and he will start breathing a bit more on his own! That seems to be the problem, he either wont breath on his own, or his breaths are to shallow. Everything else seems to be going pretty good! I am hoping and praying that he continues to do well, and that breathing tube will come out soon, but only when he is ready! Its hard to take all this in. Its totally different being the parent, being the nurse is much easier! I know that all this is for the best for my little one, and he will be there soon! Its just tough! I am glad to be blessed to have Jaxon in my life, and cant wait to have him home! I just have to be patient... I love him so much, more than words can explain!!!

8/25 Here are a couple pictures of his new room in the new unit! We love the new unit. Private rooms for all the babies! Its nice and quiet! Jaxon, Jeff, and I love it!!!

8/29- Momma got to hold him like a real baby! Dressed and everything! Look at how big he is! He is really starting to fill out! He is about 2lbs 12 ounces!
